Our inaugural CMJ Awards ceremony took place in August 2026, with the aim of celebrating the innovation and excellence throughout our retailer and supplier membership.

Here, we take a closer look at the winner of the award for Supply Chain Excellence, Birmingham-based supplier Clark Diamonds. The Supply Chain Excellence award looked to honour a supplier that delivers reliability, innovation and exceptional service, demonstrating operational excellence, responsiveness and strong relationships with retail partners.

Why did the judges choose Clark Diamonds?

The judging panel voted for Clark Diamonds as the worthy winner because of its introduction of  TRACR diamonds over the previous 12 months. TRACR diamonds are GIA-certificated diamonds that can be completely traced back to the individual diamond mine and the actual piece of rough diamond crystal that the finished stone has been cut from. The traceability is secured by an unalterable block chain – a customer can simply enter the GIA certificate number on the TRACR website and instantly see the journey that the diamond has taken to get to them.

Clark Diamonds has also introduced single mine origin (SMO) gold into its manufacturing process. This gold comes from specific mines and there is a huge amount of provenance to show where, when and who has mined your gold. It also shows how the mines are having a positive effect on the people and communities that are involved in the mining.

On top of these new programmes, Clark Diamonds is a fully accredited member of the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC), which means that the business is routinely audited to make sure its supply chain follows best practice and remains ethical and transparent.

Finally, the judges also praised the Clark Diamonds team for their being a pleasure to deal with.
