We take 10 minutes out of Jen’s day to find out more about her through 10 quickfire questions:
Describe yourself in three words.
Thoughtful, family-orientated, conscientious.
What do you do at the CMJ and how long have you worked there?
I’m Market Insights and Digital Development Manager and have worked for the CMJ for six months now.
What experience led you to being in the role you are in now?
Prior to joining the CMJ I worked in the insurance division of the Watches of Switzerland Group. I worked in many varied roles and from this I have a good understanding of the industry.
What do you like most about your job?
I learn something new every day. I am researching constantly so whether that be a new statistic or a new product, my library of resources is building all the time.
What’s been your most memorable moment since working at the CMJ?
Completing my first CMJ Retail Insights Report, the initial report was sent out to CMJ retailers in September and an update was released in November.
What do you enjoy most about working in the jewellery industry?
Everything, once you’re in you’re in! It’s so niche. My parents always called me a magpie – as a child I was drawn to anything that sparkled, now as an adult I can appreciate everything and everyone that goes behind the sparkle.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
My favourite thing is to put on the wellies and head into the fields with my husband, the boys and our Labrador Copper, then head home for a glass of red.
What was the last book you read?
It’s been a while since I last read a book – I think it was during the Mr Gray phase. Now any down time I get, I choose meditation over reading.
Who is your inspiration?
My mum, she is the strongest person I know. She faces everything head on.
Who would be your three dream dinner party guests?
Jamie Oliver (he would cook) Frank Sinatra (I’d love to have a sing song with him) and Princess Diana.
Thank you for reading about Jen, keep your eyes peeled for the next member of our ECOM team.
