Jessop Jewellers celebrates 50th anniversary

This August, CMJ retail member, Jessop Jewellers, is celebrating 50 years in business after opening its doors in 1971.

Located in the Kingdom Shopping Centre, Glenrothes, the store was originally opened by George Jessop and two generations later is led by husband and wife team Christopher and Sophie Jessop.

Following the challenges of the last 18 months, Jessop Jewellers is growing from strength to strength under the day to day management of Sophie. The fife based family firm is enjoying welcoming customers into store with a new shop facade to celebrate the 50th milestone birthday, with in store offers and celebrations taking place up until Christmas.

Originally a watch and clock repairs business, Jessop Jewellers soon concentrated on retailing and rapidly gained just reputation for exquisite service and quality fine jewellery under the 45 year stewardship of George’s son Paul Jessop. These values remain true to this day; the company is renowned for the team s expertise in and vast range of diamonds and gem set jewellery. Alongside, Jessop Jewellers offers watches and jewellery from the most fashion brands including Pandora, Swarovski, Emporio Armani and Hugo Boss Watches. The full range is available to view on their new website, launched earlier this year.

Sophie Jessop, Director, said: “We are both delighted to celebrate our 50th anniversary with a bespoke new shop front (installed by the incredible Gill Segar of iCatcha Displays Ltd) and help our customers mark their own special occasions; from proposals to golden wedding anniversaries, births and birthdays. It’s a milestone age for any business, especially in a “new town” and in the challenging retail industry. We highly value all our wonderful and loyal customers, new and old (many of whom have shopped with us since the very beginning).


She continues: “Whilst retail sales continues to grow post re-opening, our jewellery and watch repairs department has experienced record months. On site repairs Manager Anita Munro adds “our customers are certainly more nostalgic post pandemic” she went on to explain “from re-designing inherited jewellery to restoring sentimental watches, our customers are eager to invest into the their own collection more than ever before; maintaining the sentiment and heirloom for generations to come”. Jessop Jewellers are the largest and most trusted watch and jewellery repairs centre in Fife.
