The Company of Master Jewellers (CMJ) has announced its Growth & Learning Network events for 2020, with a more extensive programme planned than ever before.
The groupโs Growth & Learning Network events were launched last year as a platform for CMJ members to come together and network with peers, as well as give feedback on the direction of the CMJ. They provide a mix of business development and team-building activities, providing attendees with invaluable professional and personal development.
Following very positive feedback in 2019, all of this yearโs events are open to all CMJ members โ both retailers and suppliers. They have also all been extended to two-day events, so each one has more to offer than ever before.
The first event will be held in Sheffield in March and will include a tour of the Sheffield Assay Office and an evening team-building activity at an Escape Room. Other activities planned for locations across the UK in 2020 include a Scotch Whisky tour and bagpipe classes in Edinburgh, glass blowing in Bath, gin tasting and a retailer tour in Lancashire, a trip to the Titanic exhibition in Belfast, and a Norfolk Broads experience.
Nigel Leake of Nuneaton retailer DC Leake, who attended a Growth & Learning Network event in 2019, said: โItโs worth taking the time and making the effort to attend as itโs informative and enjoyable for all.โ
Speaking about the plans for this yearโs events, CMJ Board Director Phil Ainsworth said: โWe were delighted with the reception we received at the events in 2019 and wanted to ensure they offered even more in 2020. The mantra for the CMJ is โyou talk, we listen, we actโ โ our retailer WhatsApp group was a direct result of one of 2019โs meetings. We hope that this yearโs calendar of events will once again bring our members together to network with each other and give them the opportunity to voice what they want from the CMJ.โ
