British jewellery manufacturer Hockley Mint has announced an exclusive agreement to become the UK distributor of SILNOVA, a revolutionary new tarnish-resistant silver alloy.
Hockley Mint will also be the exclusive UK manufacturer of SILNOVA product, and hopes that the metal will particularly appeal to designers who are looking for high-quality silver that consumers can wear every day, safe in the knowledge that it will remain tarnish free for longer than sterling silver.
Tests have shown that objects created in SILNOVA silver retain their brilliance for 20 times longer than untreated traditional silver, with a tarnish strength equal to that of a 9ct white gold alloy.
SILNOVA also removes the environmental impact associated with sterling silver, as it avoids the need for plating and the use of potassium cyanide, which is otherwise necessary to make the product last.
Gary Wroe, managing director of Hockley Mint, said: “We are looking forward to showing SILNOVA to visitors at IJL – we think this is a fantastic opportunity for jewellery designers to work with an alloy that is guaranteed to keep consumers happy with its tarnish-resistant qualities. As an award-winning British manufacturer, we pride ourselves on innovation and are passionate about promoting ethics within the jewellery industry – as a result, SILNOVA fits perfectly into our business. We would like to encourage anyone interested in this fantastic product to stop by our stand and find out more.”
Hockley Mint will launch SILNOVA on stand D90 at International Jewellery London from 2 to 4 September.
